All beach areas offer ocean front communities and easy access to the beaches. There are plenty of parks, shopping and restaurants in all beach areas as well. Most beaches offer seasonal arts, music and other festivals, holiday festivities and summer surf camps for the kids.
And St. Augustine and Daytona Beaches are a short drive away!!
Jacksonville Beach
"Jax Beach" offers a very laid-back lifestyle. Residents there enjoy the close proximity to the beach. This is evident on weekends when you see people bicycling along the ocean, surfboarding, or simply soaking up the sun. Jax Beach is also known for its nightlife and several popular restaurants and watering holes.
Atlantic Beach
Stretching out 25 blocks from north to south, Atlantic Beach is a quaint area with eateries, boutiques and community activities including the Annual Dancin' In The Streets Festival, a Christmas Festival and parent and children campouts in the city park several times a year.

Neptune Beach
Although Neptune Beach is the smallest and youngest of the beach neighborhoods, it goes to great lengths to keep up a suburban feel. Many improvements have been made including new landscaping and brick streets. Many new hot spots have popped up here, but it hasn't sacrificed the residential feel that has defined the neighborhood.
Ponte Vedra Beach
Ponte Vedra Beach has been rated by Money Magazine as the "Best Place To Live In Florida." If beautiful beaches, world class tennis and professional golf appeal to you, you have chosen the right place to be. Ponte Vedra Beach has the ambiance of a small town, but with the flavor of sophistication found in larger cities. Some of the most prestigious and scenic golf courses in the world attract professional tournaments including the PGA TOURS and THE PLAYERS Championship, with a 6 million dollar purse. The signature course, acclaimed "the seventh best resort course in America by Golf Digest, is the 6,857-yard TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course, one of the "Worlds Most Photographed Holes." Business is booming here and the economy is good; yet the property taxes are still low.

MANDARIN
Full of majestic oaks and waterfront homes, Mandarin is one of the most desired areas for living in Jacksonville. Mandarin offers the most waterfront property of any other areas in town. With its suburban family-focused lifestyle, Mandarin offers many neighborhood parks (most of them on the St. Johns River), as well as great community neighborhoods, several marinas and a large variety of shopping facilities and restaurants.
ARLINGTON
Between 1950 and 1970, Arlington became the fastest growing area in Duval County due to the opening of the Matthews Bridge in 1953. Situated near the St. Johns River this area offers Jacksonville University, a plentiful supply of well known chain retailers and restaurants, and the Regency Square Mall. Arlington is one of Jacksonville's traditional communities with established neighborhoods. East Arlington, which is known as Fort Caroline, is a family favorite that offers hiking, exploring, kayaking and fishing. Clost proximity to the Mayport Naval Base offers a convenient commute. Ft. Caroline, a replica of the fort built in 1546 by Jean Ribault and the French Huguenots, houses French and Italian artifacts from the area.
SOUTHSIDE
One of the most centrally located areas of Jacksonville, Southside is conveniently situated near great shopping and wonderful neighborhoods with easy access to most major roadways. There are an abundance of office parks, medical facilities, single family neighborhoods, and condominium and apartment communities. Shopping includes the Avenues Mall and the newly developed St. Johns Towncenter. There is also excellent access to 9A, I-295 and I-95.
BAYMEADOWS
This area offers numerous condominium communities making it a popular area for first time home buyers, empty nesters and singles. Landscaped with a mix of mature trees, it's easy to feel like you are among nature. Located just south of Southside, it also offers easy access to roadways and is minutes away from great shopping and restaurants.
